Compassionate therapy for all of life’s seasons.

About Me
My approach to therapy is reflective of my approach to life in general; I strive to show up authentically, with compassion, and with curiosity about your life and the struggles you are hoping to work on. I find that building a trusting therapeutic relationship, identifying your values and priorities, and a little bit of laughter are important first steps in the therapy process.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time outdoors and finding new ways to connect with nature. I love precipitation in all its forms (especially snow!) and am grateful to live in a place where we can experience the beauty of all four seasons. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, and cozy British television.
My Training and Philosophy
I have over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field and am grateful for the many experiences, educational opportunities, and mentors who have helped me develop as person and therapist.
I am trained to work primarily with adults and have special training in working with the elderly population. My work is shaped by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a mindfulness-based psychotherapy which focuses less on “fixing” ourselves and more on acceptance of our struggles and developing psychological flexibility and committed action to move us into alignment with our personal values.
Mind-body connection is also very important to my work as a therapist. I find it helpful to explore the way our body and nervous system are impacted by our emotional experiences. I also enjoy incorporating aspects of nature, movement, and the client’s spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process.
I take pride in my dedication to continuous education and professional development. You can expect me to spend time outside of my required continuing education hours to review emerging research, explore various cultural perspectives of mental health care, and to maintain a curiosity about different perspectives and treatments that may be beneficial to each individual client
